We spent four nights in La Panaderia and loved it. This has to be one of the most relaxing places we have stayed in. Admittedly the location is remote and I would recommend having access to a car once there in order to get your groceries etc. The road from Zagra is a narrow, unlit dirt track but this just adds to the experience. La Panaderia is well equipped, spacious and has probably one of the best terraces. The pool and surrounding area were immaculate and at times we had it to ourselves. We would have no hesitation in recommending Molina La Ratonera to anyone wanting a 'get away from it all' type of holiday and we would definitely return.

Just back from a week-long holiday with our extended family and already planning the next one to the Mill! A truly wonderful place to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery and take your time over little things. The inhabitants of Zagra are warm and welcoming and the nearby town of Loja provides all the culture and history you could need. The valley is sublimely breath-taking, matched only by the abundant hospitality of Kath and Andy. We're trying not to tell friends about it for fear we won't get in again!! Some treasured family memories were made here.

What a fantastic time in a truly amazing and beautiful place. Been home only four days and wishing so much that we were back there. Missing it so much. Cath and Andy are so welcoming and friendly and perfect hosts. The houses are all amazing and so cosy and clean.Would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to get away from it all. The views are stunning and I've never seen the stars like I did there !!! Not forgetting Henry , the most adorable little dog ever!! Thankyou so much for having us all!!!

The location of the mill and attention to detail in the restoration undertaken by Kath and Andy means that from the moment we arrived we both felt the pressures of everyday life ebb away in the pool. What could be better than watching hunting bee eaters whilst drifting in the pool! Kath and Andy are the perfect hosts answering any questions you may have to make your stay just right. We look forward to the next visit. Once again thank you for a lovely holiday - not forgetting Henry the dog.

Thank you for a wonderful holiday - you can feel yourself unwinding as soon as you arrive even after driving the track in the dark! You have been great hosts and your local knowledge invaluable. This really is 'Real Spain' and we were sorry to leave.

First class service and met on arrival by Kath. The apartment was spacious and nicely furnished and featured a large private balcony. The website hints at the beautiful location but in reallity it exceeded our expectation. We had selected this particular property as a base for walking and bird watching and was perfect for this. Andy and Kath are wonderful hosts and are there for you if you want them and discrete if you don't. All in all somewhere that does exactly what is says on the tin and more. The official website is accurate and informative and is perfectly representative of what exists. Excellent value and a total recommendation.

We had a wonderful holiday in Cortijo. The mill has been magnificently restored with amazing attention to detail. It has obviously been a labour of love for Andy and Kath who are the perfect hosts. They have thought of everything and have created the perfect ambience. The location is so peaceful that you could find you don't want to tour about but if you do you are ideally situated for visiting Granada etc.Andy and Kath also provide excellent meals upstairs in the mill.We had to tear ourselves away.

What a treasure this place is! We both experienced a wonderfully tranquil and relaxing week. Both Kath and Andy have gone out of their way to ensure that our stay has been comfortable. The food has been exceptional - much appreciated by us both. Thank you for a wonderful week - we shall return.

Lovely peaceful location, very central for all the sites. Excellent well equipped accommodation with nice homely atmosphere. Thanks to Kath and Andy, good food using home grown ingredients.

We have a choice of properties available. There are 2 four person apartments and the beautifully restored Cortijo which will comfortably sleep eight guests.

The bar and terrace

The bar is located in the old mill room and still features much of the original milling equipment including the flour grinding stones. You can socialise with other guests enjoying the peace of La Ratonera with a drink in the bar or on the mill terrace. Imagine sitting under the stars on balmy summer evenings or using our communal barbecue.

In the lower mill, dating from the 16th century, is the gym, library and tourism information centre while the favourite place for most guests in the long hot summer days is the large pool which uses an eco friendly system to clean the water, reducing the chemicals required and making the water silky smooth.

Although offically part of the municipality of Algarinejo, the nearest village, 2.5 kilometres away, is Zagra with shops, banks, bars, restaurants, swimming pool and castle. Both Zagra and Algarinejo embody the charm of Spain as it has been for decades where friendly, easygoing people welcome you into their lives.

The area is known as El Poniente Granadino (the west of Granada) and is rich in evidence of Andalucia's Moorish past with castles and watchtowers (atalayas) ever present on the horizon.
