Facilities available at Molino la Ratonera

All guests at Molino la Ratonera have access to the following facilities:
The shaded area of the pool terrace
• The large 13 metre x 7 metre swimming pool. With wide entrance steps, a depth of 1.2 metres for half its length and a maximum depth of 2 metres it is ideal for cooling down or serious length swimming. The pool water is cleaned with ultra violet light, an eco friendly alternative, which uses minimal chemicals. As a result the water feels beautifully soft and does not cause any eye or skin irritation.
The lower millroom gym
• The well equipped gym located in the lower millroom. The equipment includes a treadmill, static bike, cross-trainer, rowing machine and guarded weight multi trainer.
The library
• The book and video library and tourism information centre in the lower mill lounge provides a comprehensive source of local tourism information with comfortable sofas for relaxing while you choose your next book. From the lounge you have views over the waterfall which provides a haven for wildlife.

The lower mill terrace
• The lower mill terrace is a tranquil place to sit, staying shady until late morning.

• The mill shop. We offer our own eggs and organic vegetables according to season, locally produced olive oil, bread and a selection of other essentials.

• Free wi-fi internet connection available in all houses and a computer in the bar for those who need to keep up to date with their emails.

• Guest laundry facilities.

• Airport transfers or other taxi services. The airport transfer is priced at €70 (up to 3 people) and €100 (4 or more) each way.

Accommodation

We have six houses available. There are 2 two person houses from only £280 per week high season, 3 four person properties and the beautifully restored Cortijo which will comfortably sleep eight guests, with rental prices starting at £570 high season.

Facilities

In the lower mill, dating from the 16th century, is the gym, library and tourism information centre while the favourite place for most guests in the long hot Summer days is the large pool which uses an eco friendly system to clean the water, reducing the chemicals required and making the water silky smooth.

Molino la Ratonera is an ideal walking centre as it is located on a network of tracks. We offer a range of self-guided walks to enable your group to explore at its own pace. We provide detailed instructions with distance, duration, historical information and maps to enable you to enjoy this beautiful environment entirely on foot. Location

Although offically part of the municipality of Algarinejo, the nearest village, 2.5 kilometres away, is Zagra with shops, banks, bars, restaurants, swimming pool and castle. Both Zagra and Algarinejo embody the charm of Spain as it has been for decades where friendly, easygoing people welcome you into their lives.

The area is known as El Poniente Granadino (the west of Granada) and is rich in evidence of Andalucia's Moorish past with castles and watchtowers (atalayas) ever present on the horizon.
